Finally, I will own a Saab again. I have missed my 89 900s Turbo and wish that I had never sold it. But there was no chance of me ever owning a GM made Saab.

after having owned 11 saabs in my lifetime, I am excited that there will now be a 12th. A new Viggen Hatchback would be nice. I can't believe that VM pulled it off. It sure made my day!!!!

    Finally ...
You at SAAB never stopped to work for a solution. Mr. Muller came along and helped the automobil-world to keep one of the most important automobile traditions alive...yes you rewoked the believe in SAAB.
Get as far away from the volume-brands and boring GM-design as you can..get bacvk to a timeless design, keep the prices attractive and you will be succesfull.
Congratulations SAAB ... you are all worth it.
(Never forgot my 900 aero back in 1986)

Form way down here in sunny Florida a warm hello and sign of relief that Saab lives.

Please contact Car & Driver and ask them to include Saab in the next comparison of convertibles. The headline reads "Europe vs. Japan" and they compared Audi A5 Cabrio, BMW 328i, Infiniti G37, and Lexus 250C -- missing was SAAB Aero Cabriolet V6.

Make beautiful cars that are solid, well built, reliable and uniquely Saab and you will be successful.

Today there is such sameness in the car industry, same corporate owners, same design, components, etc...I grew up in the car business when there were a lot of different brands, and each company and product had its own unique character...I am so glad Saab will be able to continue and especially that it will continue as an independent company, making unique vehicles that don't look and feel like everything else out there. Best of luck to all of you!

the shape is the thing. Ford has it's Mustang, VW has it's bug, Chevy has it's Camaro.
PLEASE BRING BACK THE 900 SHAPE. This is what SAAB must do. BE SAAB.
i will drive my 87 SPG until it's dust or they make a car as unmistakably SAAB.

Jan-Åke, thanks for an incredible effort and lots of hard work. Victor, if only Swedes had half of your passion for our most important industry.... Big thanks !
Now, let´s show all pessimists, "experts" and reporters screaming for close-down, that they were DEAD WRONG !
Good luck - just waiting for new 9-5.

When I read this I kept hearing the Lollipop Guild from Wizard of Oz in my head singing "Ding Dong the witch is dead! The wicked with is dead!" But I shouldn't hate GM too much, they DID sell afterall.

I don't drive a Saab anymore but its a brand I am in love with. Glad to know it will be getting back its DNA. I hope more effort will be put into promoting the cars in the SEA region. Here in Malaysia the dealership went down and I am looking forward to seeing a new one soon.

SAAB must forge it's own path. Don't chase BMW/Audi/Benz, etc. Keep the cars lightweight, fun to drive, efficient, unique, utilitarian and affordable. Stay true to these traits and you will keep your loyal as well as attracting new followers. Looking forward to the new 9-1/Sonnet. God Speed to SAAB!

I am elated that someone finally bought SAAB. It would have been a shame if the brand was discontinued. Hopefully SAAB will let indivual owners know about dealerships and service.

Of course, how could Jan-Åke by himself object to almighty GM while Buickization of Saab was going on … at the very least thank goodness my '04 9-5 Arc wagon is probably the last model year that had a true Saab interior with Saab buttons, knobs, comfy seats, and just the right amount of turbo to keep it fun. So, what’s missing?

Now that we are totally committed to building Swedish cars going forward, how about a Scandinavian sound system as an option? I listen to Bowers and Wilkins at home and it would be very nice to listen to something similar like say a Bang & Olufsen in my Saab. I am aware B&O is Danish and it has its own unique sound apart from B&W and Audi already offers it, but VM is also Dutch so there you go.

Wasn’t trying to read lips or anything, but couldn’t help but notice VM ask for a Saab 9-5 so that he can drive it away with him. Btw, is Factory/European Delivery coming back? Cheers.

optimistic about the future of SAAB and daring to order an actual 9-5 or 9-3. Avanti popolo!!

I fell in love with Saab convertibles in the mid 80's when I sat on the patio of a bar in Miami South Beach (on vacation) and watched the filming of an advertisement for a car I had never seen before. I could finally afford to buy one in the early 90's and have had one ever since. I was so worried that I would have to buy something else in the future, but now am so excited that the tradition continues! Thank you for a car for those of us who want something different.

With five Saabs over the last 25 years, I am so glad the brand made it. I have enjoyed them, (all except the 9000, in shop constantly, probably delayed retirement for a few years with their depreciation also). Now have my kids all start and drive a Saabs. Many late nights, a little assurance that they are out in one of the safest cars which is worth the depreciation.
