Victor Muller & Jan Åke Jonsson meet the workers in Trollhättan

Barely a day after reaching agreement over the purchase of Saab Automobile by Spyker Cars from General Motors, Victor Muller, CEO of Spyker Cars and Jan Åke Jonsson, CEO Saab Automobile, went to Trollhättan to meet the workforce...

I have been enjoying Saab for many years. Even with not a good and reasonable pricing support service in our country.
If I could solve this, I will never change for another car make !!
Saab in not only a good car, is a "serious car" !
My compliments and best wishes to solve all what is happening,

Excellent! As an owner of 3 succesive saabs I am elated that saab will continue its journey through time. Many Kudos to Spyker. Saab has immense potential--hire a designer from Apple and transform the car into the must have of the next decade! Steer away from the bastardization of 9-4x 9-2 9-7x etc of GM. Best of luck to all!

Wow, what a proud moment in the history of SAAB! We as SAAB owners are eternally grateful to Victor Muller, Jon-Akke Jonsson, and everyone involved for their hard work in saving this iconic brand. I think the SAAB community is stronger today than it has ever been. Now the hard work begins. Take advantage of this incredible momentum and show the world that SAAB is alive and well. I look forward to the new models in the future (secretly wishing for a new 9-3 hatchback someday).

The SAAB SPIRIT lives on......Long live SAAB

Finally! Glad to see Saab now has a decent chance to succeed. I am a first time Saab owner (2004 9-3 ARC). The car is exasperating at times with its quirks (many I'm sure the cause of GM era quality control. But, it's so much fun to drive, I can't bring myself to part with it. Hopefully, Saab will progress and build better cars now that they are unshackled from GM.

Congratulations on the deal! Saabdriving for 20 years now and convincing day by day to friends & businessrelations what a wonderful car a saab is in compairison with other brands. Making it again more unique by putting more real saab-DNA is indeed the way to go! Combined with the right, independent, management, the future's once again secured !

Many congratulations! Let's hope the EU don't derail the deal because of government funding.
Without GM you can now produce better cars with greater attention to detail. My last present 93 Sportshatch, of the first batch, has had nothing but problems with the telephone and computer. 3 years of misery and bad service in my part of NW Spain. Don't worry, I shall stop considering other marques and await a decent SAAB! (But PLEASE tell your Vigo dealers to get off their backsides - ever since they were absorbed by a larger company, it has been a disaster).

Please keep our local Saab dealer, BREWERS SAAB in Maugansville, Maryland. Since 1987 we have purchased 12 Saabs and BREWERS SAAB in Maugansville, Maryland is the reason. Washington County Maryland is a small county in western Maryland and Brewers service cannot be meant by another dealer. NO NONSENSE. They have customers come from the Washington area for that reason. They aren't fancy but I don't buy for a fancy showroom with lack of service. The Brewers a family business and as a customer you are part of their family. Don't just elect dealers for their facade, but for customer service. In this little area of ~ 150,000 you would be amazed at the number of BREWERS SAAB named on the back of cars. I also commute 70 miles one way to work and notice many of their dealer nameplates on Saab I encounter. I hope you consider previous customer's needs. Thank you for your time and consideration.

    Regards,
Bryan & Sharon Martin (extremely satisfied Brewers Customers)

After this fantastic outcome for Saab and its entire community of supporters, I would like to address the issue of sales. I read somewhere that the development of the 9-1 will be delayed. In my opinion, not delaying it may have significant advantages:
    - Saab cannot generate enough sales and become a healthy competitor with two strong models only (9-5 and 9-3)
    - Entering the compact segment would bring freshness in the range where the battles are furious but generates most sales and revenue. This will make the genuine Saab spirit more accessible to larger number of buyers. The cars that pulled e.g. Fiat out of trouble were Punto, Panda, Bravo and 500. VW Golf 6 is on the world's trone. New Astra raises high hopes. Saab 9-1 could beat them all!
    - Developing a smaller 9-1 would cost much less that a totally new 9-3
    - The flagship 9-3 may undergo a facelift to regain freshness, enough to stay on the market until his successor steps in.

I bought a Saab 9.3 Turbo Edition with TX Design upgrade 1.9 150 PS in bright red in December 09. I love the look of the car and how it drives and at least three people have walked passed my driveway and commented on how good it looks. I would say that since the Swedish type weather hit Britain in December, it needs a heated front windscreen for easier defrosting on these cold mornings. The new 9.5 looks stunning. Well done Spyker for saving a great product. Long live Saab. Angus Robinson, Rochdale UK.

This is fantastic news! I just hope that SAAB continues their operations in South Africa. My local GM dealer said that SAAB will ceise to operate here. I've always dreamt of owning one, but it is pointless buying it if there are no plans to support it over here.

SAAB never sold well here. The reason is that SAAB prior to the GM take-over and even during the GM years, never marketed it properly. GM treated SAAB as the black sheep in the family and bunted Chev and Cadillac products locally instead.

Hopefully when SAAB returns to SA's roads, they'll follow a more agressive marketing strategy aided with an awareness campaign.

Long live the BAAS of the road!

Wonderful news that SAAB is on the road again, even if it will be bumpy for a while. With the great ride of SAAB it should be a nice trip.
We have owned a 2006 93 and now own a 2008 95 which we just love taking for drives thru the mountains here in BC. Everyone looks at the the car as we drive by or sit at the lights. We have had nothing but great experiences with both of our cars.
